In the blink of an eye the moment is gone.

Nothing ever stays the same.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the surf bum days of my youth, they wouldn’t serve me well in today’s world. And that’s OK.

Changes in life offer new opportunities every day. Whether we take advantage of these opportunities is up to us.

Life doesn’t care what we choose to do.

Never has. Never will.

Life moves forward, with or without us.

People will read about us in history books. Not because we made history, but simply because we lived hundreds, if not thousands of years in the past.

Life won’t care what they choose to do either, and never will.

So why should we care so much about life and its ever changing disinterest in our exploits?

Perhaps the ones you love can answer with the smiles on their faces, or the warmth of their embrace. Perhaps those you show compassion and kindness will answer with thank you’s from the heart, and tears from a lightened soul. Perhaps a walk into the unknown will answer with whispers of self discovery.

Can we be open to the answers, and accept the changes they create? Why not? What have we got to lose? Our Life?

Life is good!

Smile every time a stranger crosses your path.  Give thanks when random generosity presents you with unexpected goodness. Welcome a dark and dreary dawn, after a night rocked by thunder and lightning.

Change is good, but don’t follow me.

Our paths may cross, and our destination may be the same, but how we get there is ever-changing, and unique to each and every one of us.

Follow your own path, and while the passing moment won’t wait, and the next will be here and gone soon enough, life offers you an incredible opportunity to choose.
